About FECCIA

Who we are

The European Federation of Managerial Staff in the Chemical and Allied Industries (FECCIA) is the lead industrial relations organisation for the managers in the chemical and pharmaceutical sector on the European level.

Through its national member organisations, FECCIA represents the interests of over 100,000 managerial staff in Europe and coordinates the communication and cooperation with the European Chemical Employers Organisation ECEG and the trade union.

FECCIA contributes to the development of solutions to all relevant socio-political issues concerning managers in the chemical industry. As a member of CEC-European Managers, FECCIA is active in the Social Dialogue Committee of the European Commission.

Activities

FECCIA represents the interest of over 100,000 managerial staff in the European chemical sector vis-à-vis

  • the European Commission
  • the DG Employment, Social Affairs & Inclusion
  • the European social partners in the chemical industry in Europe
  • head offices of major chemicals companies in Europe

FECCIA has signed agreements on establishing European Works Council at various companies in France (Total, Arkema, Sanofi, L'Oréal, Saint-Gobain, RioTinto), Belgium (Solvay), in Germany (Bayer, BASF), and Great Britain (Syngenta, GlaxoSmithKline) through its national member federations.

FECCIA has furthermore signed agreements with ETUC (European Trade Union Confederation) and industriAll Europe, as well as with CEFIC (European Council of Chemical Industry) and  ECEG (European Chemical Employers Group).

FECCIA plans and implements EU-funded projects at European level, in particular on the impact of demographic change on employment, on active ageing and lifelong learning, and on equal participation of women in the European chemical industry.

FECCIA is an affiliated member of CEC European Managers and EUCHEMS European Chemical Society.
